Miss Grace Flood, of Racine was a visitor with her sister, Mrs. Clarence Olson, this week. Mrs. Olson is also entertaining for the summer weeks, her cousin, Miss Betty Sprague of Milwaukee.
Humbird - Locals (Sept. 2, 1932)
Adolph and Will Rosolack were taken to La Crosse Thursday afternoon and evening by Angus Flood and M. Kretschmer,where they left with their sister, Mrs. Wolfe, on a trip to Muskegon, Mich. to see their brother, John. The latter has not been in very good health for some time and is reported much worse.

Last week, Clarence Olson brought home an extra fine mess of fish from the northern lake. One lot was served for the evening meal, and the other dressed and placed in the cellar. During the night some culprit entered the cellar and made away with all excepting two small pieces.

Reported that W.C. Flood has rented his services station to Herb Giloy for the coming months. Mr. Flood expects to enjoy a vacation for a while from the long hours of station service.

Donald Olson was brought home from the Krohn Hospital the latter part of the week, and is about recovered from the operation for appendicitis.

Six members of the local W.S.C.S., Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. Flood, Mrs. Fowler, Miss Fowler, Mrs. Moore, and Mrs. Olson, attended a district group meeting of the society at Neillsville last Friday. An excellent program was given.

Mrs. Clara Thompson of Portland, Ore., is visiting her sister, Mrs. W.C. Flood. Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Flood, and Mrs. Olson spent Wednesday with relatives at Black River Falls.

Last Saturday evening the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Flood was celebrated by a jolly party of relatives and friends at their home in this village.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Olson and Duane were business callers in Neillsville Monday afternoon
Mrs. Clarence Olson is at Ladysmith this week, attending the West Wisconsin conference of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Olson is the lay delegate representing the Humbird, Merrillan, and Alma Center charge.

Mrs. Gladys Olson, lay delegate from the circuit, is attending the West Wisconsin Methodist Conference at Ladysmith this week. She accompanied Rev. and Mrs. Edw. Sachtjen of Wis. Dells.
Angus Flood returned the last of the week from spending several days in Milwaukee and Beloit on business with the farm machine company which he represents. Mr. Flood drove home a fine new Dodge car from Milwaukee, and also brought a junior bicycle for his daughter.

W.C. Flood has about recovered from his recent hold up experience. Last Sunday he and his son Angus tried a fox hunt, and were successful in getting one.
Duane Olson has returned home after an operation for appendicitis at the Krohn Hospital. Duane spent only four days in the hospital. He is convalescing rapidly

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jenswold have purchased the King residence from Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Flood and expect to move into town some time this spring. The house is occupied by the Jerome Dignin family.

Mrs. Clarence Olson is confined to her home with a blood clot, which formed near her left ankle, following an injury.

Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Olson and sons were visitors last Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Robert Giloy, and family in Marshfield.

Mrs. John Michael, Mrs. Dora Kelsh, Mrs. Fred Trachsel, Mrs. Angus Flood, Rev. and Mrs. Hohmann are scheduled to attend the spring meeting of the Wausau Region Guild of the Evangelical and Reformed Church at Athens this Thursday.

A committee from the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist Church, composed of Mrs. Pickett, Mrs. Losey, and Mrs. W.C. Flood is making a canvass of the community for funds to purchase chairs for use in the new basement of the church. A folding type of chair, wooden frame that can be used in the church when necessary, will be bought. The ladies have been quite successful in their canvas, and if others wish to give a chair who have not been called upon, they are requested to hand their mite to one of the committee before Oct. 22nd.

Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Flood, Mrs. C. Olson and Mrs. Angus Flood attended the funeral of Bonnie Olson at the Methodist Church in Merrillan Tuesday afternoon. Bennie, the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Olson of Owen, passed away in a Stanley hospital Friday as the result of a ruptured appendix. The mother is a niece of Mrs. W.C. Flood and the father is a cousin of Clarence Olson.

Mrs. W.C. Flood and Miss Alice Folwer left Saturday to spend a week at the Red Rock mission at Medicine Lake, Minn. Miss Fowler will also visit in Minneapolis before returning.
