Miss Coralyn Schofield, Black River Falls, and William Casper, Alma Center, were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 1957, in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Wayne L. Grover at the Methodist Church in Black River Falls. Only relatives were in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. William Hostrawser of La Crosse, were the attendants. Mrs. Hostrawer is the former Miss Darlene Dunn of Black River Falls and classmate of the bride. They graduated from high school here in 1956.
Mrs. Kathryn Cole furnished the organ wedding music. Richard Hanson a cousin of the bride, sang two solos, “I Love You Truly” and “The Lord’s Prayer”. Mrs. Cole was his accompanist. The altar flowers were white larkspur and greenery in tall wrought iron containers completed the setting.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Russell Schofield of Milwaukee, wore a ballerina length simple dress of white Swiss dotted nylon over a lace hoop skirt, a fingertip veil of French illusion and carried a corsage of pink and white carnations on a bible. Her matron of honor wore a lavender dress and corsage of pink and white carnations.
A reception was held following the ceremony at Lloyd’s café recreation room. The beautiful 3-tier decorated wedding cake had been made and presented by Mrs. William Dalby. The bride’s table was decorated with a table piece of cut flowers and white candles in white wood block candle holders, placed in a flat line of cedar leaves. Mrs. Clarence Rutherford served the wedding cake. Mrs. Steven Hanson poured. Mrs. Leonard Olson and Miss Alice Felcan assisted in serving. Mrs. James Noble, junior, was in charge of the guest book. Fifty guests registered.
The bride is the daughter of Russell Scofield, and the late Mrs. Scofield, of Milwaukee. She has been making her home with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James Noble, senior. She graduated from high school here last year and except for part of last summer spent in Wyoming with her aunt, Mrs. Robert Ford, has been working at Lloyd,s Café. The bridegroom is the son of William Casper, senior, and the late Mrs. Casper, of Alma Center. He has employment on a large dairy farm at Rollingstone, Minn, and he and his bride have gone there to make their home in an apartment awaiting them.
The bride was honored on last Wednesday evening at a delightful miscellaneous shower given at Lloyd’s at which Mesdames William Dalby, Steven Hanson and Clarence Rutherford were hostesses. She received many lovely gifts.
Among those from away attending the wedding were the bridegroom’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arneson of Racine; Miss Emily Young of Milwaukee an Mr. and Mrs. David Noble, daughter Nancy and son Sammy of Chicago.
