Mrs. Patricia M. Scofield died December 11, 1952, as the result of a traffic accident. The car which she was driving went off the highway after striking a culvert. The accident happened on Highway 12 about four miles north of Tomah. The only other person in the car was Mrs. Elizabeth D. Sanderson. Both Mrs. Sanderson and Mrs. Scofield were employed in the office of Congressman Merlin Hull in Washington, D.C. and were here with him at the time awaiting a return to Washington the first of the year.
Services were held for her at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 13, in the Methodist church in Black River Falls, the Rev. Wayne L. Grover officiating. Interment was made in the Noble family lot at Riverside.
Patricia Marylyn, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Noble, was born December 30, 1919, in Shanghai, China, and lived there the first year of her life. The family returned home and again went to China a year later, remaining there until 1927. Black River Falls had since been her home except for several years spent in Milwaukee. Three years ago she had gone to Washington, D.C., to become a member of the staff in Mr. Hull’s office and had since divided her time between Black River Falls and Washington. She was a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas, of Black River Falls, and the late Dr. and Mrs. James H. Noble of Eau Claire.
She was married in 1937 in Michigan, to Russell C. Scofield, of Merill. They made their home in Milwaukee for about five years. She is survived and mourned by three children, Coralyn, James and Julie Jon. She is also mourned by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Her brothers are James L. Noble, and Dr. John H. Noble, Black River Falls, and David Noble, of Madison; her sister is Jahala, Mrs. Robert Ford, of Crystal Falls, Mich.
