Coralyn "Suki", age 71, of rural Black River Falls passed Aways early Monday morning in Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. She was born the daugther of Russell C. and Patricia M. (Noble) Scofield. She was raised in Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School. Suki later married William J. "Lum" Casper. The couple lived in rural Black River Falls. Following the deaths of Lum's brother and wife (Chester and Iola Casper), Suki and Lum raised 3 of Chester and Iola's 5 children – Jean Casper Swenson, Lois Casper Kampmeier, and Brenda Casper Nordstrom. Lum Casper died in February of 1985. She was employed as a bookkeeper/secretary at South Alma Cheese Factory for about 27 years. She was also a bartender at the Rainbow Club of Black River Falls for many years. Suki loved cats, painting (watercolor and oil), birds, horses, having coffee at the Sunrise Café, and snowmobiling. She had also bowled on a league in the past. Survivors include her significant other, Charlie Slaght of Black River Falls, WI; a brother, James "Jody" Scofield of Cape Coral, FL; nieces, Anne M. Lamon, Tina L. Crum, Jamie L. Scofield, Theresa Emerson, Erin Goetzka, Patricia Burlingame, Jean Swenson, Lois Kampmeier, Linda Schroeder, and Brenda Nordstrom; nephews, Eric Emerson, Christian (Krista) Emerson, and Calvin Casper; her friend and caregiver, LaVon Shuler of Black River Falls, WI; special friends, Jim and Beth Laufenberg of Black River Falls, WI; and her cats. In addition to her husband, Lum, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Emerson. Funeral services were held at the Buswell Funeral Home. Pastor Kathleen Jury will officiate.
