In the early afternoon 86th Brigade had asked for help in attacking Noyelles as they were held up by heavy MG fire. On his own initiative Capt Harcourt immediately set off in one tank and ordered another to follow when it was ready.

Account of Operations ( (W2a)

The tanks successfully entered Noyelles and dealt with the enemy effectively with 6pdr fire. Both tanks rallied.
