21-Mar-18 – 4th Battalion, C coy, d sec, Lt Dobinson HH W5a - With 16th div. Drove 6 miles, in action for 6 hours. Fired 195 6 pdr and 5000 SAA. Led 2 companies of Munster Fusiliers to recapture guns in Esclairvillers Wood. Infantry could not keep up. Inflicted heavy casualties and set fire to ammo dump. Later helped Connaught Rangers recapture Ronsoy Wood. Drove back enemy with heavy casualties. Hit in rear left hand rollers but kept fighting until ammo almost exhausted, retired to re supply but ordered to abandon tank. 95-93 W5a

When second tank returned, the crew was split to man both the second tank and 4021, extra crew recruited from infantry. Went twice into action. Suffered a direct hit. 95-93 W5a

Drove 3 miles, fired 5000 SAA, Moved from Buire Wood to Spur Quarry (right of Villers Faucon) to counter attack with R Sussex. Enemy broke through on right so counter attack abandoned. Tank moved along enemy front line inflicting heavy casualties. Suffered a Direct hit OIC and 4 OR wounded. 95-93 W5a

22-Mar-18 – 4th Battalion - With R Sussex. Drove 6 miles, fired 1000 SAA. Broke down at Spur cemetery before getting into action. Left Buire Wood at 1am and reached Spur Quarry, E.29.d.23 at about 6.30am. At 7.45am 4028, 4052 and 4690 attacked out of Spur Quarry. unsupported by infantry the tanks drove into the enemy inflicting severe casualties. 4052 was unable to drive up a rise to the front of the quarry and was abandoned there, subsequently being hit and destroyed.95-93 W5a
