The War Diary suggests these twenty four tanks are the only ones that ever served with the company, the OB remaining the same throughout the companies persiod of operations.

28 May – Six tank tenders from Central Stores Erin to “A” Section (H2tsc.p7) Possibly 6100, 6101,6102, 6105, 6108 and 6110 as their numbers are almost sequential.

1 June (approx.) – Eight tank tenders from 10th Tank Battalion (H2tsc.p7) (not mentioned in W10t or H10t)

3 June - Ten tank tenders from 6th Tank Battalion (H2tsc.p7) (W6t PRO-W0-95-107-4 p88)

Thus 24 tank tenders in total, the companies allotted number. (H2tsc.p7)

Overview of operations



Date unknown, first operation – 2 tanks, 2Lt Foster TB and 2Lt Harris CG with 10th Tank Battalion delivered refills near Bucquoy (H2tsc.p8)

23 June – 31st July - A section carried artillery shells nightly to Monchy-au-bois and Ransart for “Sherers Group” HA, VI Corps artillery.

100 shells per sponson, 200 per tank plus associated parts, total 9 tons per tank, tank sledges used to carry component parts, i.e. fuses, detonators and charges.

As the ground being traversed was much broken up by shell fire the sledges fell apart and were ultimately abandoned. (H2tsc.p8 and 9)

8 Aug - Amiens
