Can you imagine 26 pupils to visit an animal shelter, to offer dog food and go for a walk at the mountain with the dogs? Yes, it happened today! Just a few hours ago! Have a look at the diary of this activity… 14:45 – Pupils came to the meeting point, which was the main entrance of the School, with dog food and different types of dog toys. They wore colourful t-shirts with the logo of the European Year of Volunteering 2011. 15:20 – Welcome message from an employee of the animal shelter. This employee shared some advices about how to go for a walk with a dog with safety. Pupils offer their gifts and they took dog leashes. They were excited at the idea of going for a walk with the dogs! 15:30 – All the leashes were on the dogs’ collars and pupils went for a walk at the mountain near the animal shelter. During this walk they caressed the dogs and they played with them. It was a special walk for both pupils and dogs! 17:00 – After the walk with two stops in places from where the view is marvelous, pupils return with the dogs to the shelter and they fed them. It was definitely a unique, unforgettable experience! As every activity in which time and skills are given freely to benefit the society ;) Also today it was the last day of the European Week. So, here is the feedback… European Week – Day 5 or pupils’ presentation about their countries and their projects about technology! Flying house and car, magic pen, talking book, teleport, tunelator, magic mobile phone were just few of the innovative and really creative projects that pupils prepared and presented at the second hour! I was expecting that the projects would be interesting but what I saw today it was far above my expectations!
Today’s topics were also Consumer Rights, Safer Internet and Volunteering. Here is a link with further information about this last day of the European Week ;)
