Today, there weren’t any lessons at the School where I am a Comenius Assistant because of the “Monitor” exam. This is an exam that all students of Primary Schools in Slovakia have to give and it has got two parts: Maths and Slovak language. The aim of this exam is to check pupil’s knowledge and according to the results, pupils can choose the Grammar, the Technical or the Business School. The questions of this exam (tests) are the same for all Schools and are prepared by the Ministry of Education. There is a special Centre in Bratislava which controls these tests. Each student has got a unique code and the results are sent at his/her home. So, I was more than happy and excited to accept an invitation from another School in Ziar nad Hronom, Združená škola hotelová, and discussing with pupils for many different things. There wasn’t any topic and the pupils were totally free to ask about anything. Except of their shyness, I have the feeling that they enjoyed our discussion and they had a good time. I was lucky enough to discuss with pupils from three different classes, from 9:00 till 12:00.
