I missed so much the Greek lesson with pupils because last Monday I had my Induction meeting about Comenius Assistantships in Bratislava. So, today I prepared a special 45 minutes lesson (material, activities, interactive games, simulation games, everything!) in order to stimulate their appetite for learning Greek! And what it could be better than introducing food vocabulary in which some of the words are very close related with English and Slovak words (e.g. tea, tomato, mango, toast, banana, carrot, butter, milk, potato, pizza, burger, bowl). The new words that pupils learned in this lesson were: Food: bread, tea, rice, fish, tomato, corn, mango, egg, toast, banana, apple, carrot, pear, sugar, butter, milk, strawberries, onion, cucumber, grapefruit, orange, berry, grape, cheese, potato, chips, garlic, pizza, burger, mushroom, prune Cutlery: knife, fork, spoon, dish, cup, mug, bowl, glass The pupils learned these words by playing interactive games, simulation games (At the Grocery's, At the restaurant, At the Supermarket - first in pairs and after all pupils together) and through activities with flashcards. At the end of the lesson pupils played interactive games for revising their vocabulary about numbers (0-20), basic words and phrases and colours.
