Abstract
The Biomimicry Global Design Challenge is an annual team competition that focuses on addressing critical sustainability issues with nature-inspired solutions. Sponsored by the Biomimicry Institute, the goals of the Challenge are to:
Help motivated problem-solvers around the world learn how to look to nature for design and business inspiration
Create a pathway for more biomimetic products to come to market.
Bio
Megan Schuknecht is a biologist, an educator, and a senior biomimicry professional with the Biomimicry Institute. She directed the organization's University Education program for a number of years, and created its first entrepreneurship programming, the Biomimicry Launchpad, to support Biomimicry Global Design Challenge teams that have startup potential. She has helped develop a number of educational resources for the Institute, including AskNature, the Biomimicry Toolbox, and the BGDC and is an experienced biomimicry workshop facilitator.
