Reference Architectures: Perspectives and Applications

Abstract
The webinar will
Present a reference architecture concept from natural systems
Provide and discuss an example with applications
Discuss a design approach in the context of systems engineering practice
Explore benefits of reference architecture use in practice
Discuss near-term and longer term development for the concept
Provide additional background and resource materials for self-study
We explore how a reference architecture concept may help lead to desired outcomes in addressing systems engineering customer requirements.
We conclude with a discussion around application areas for near term development as well as background/resource materials for longer-term consideration and future work.
Biography
Randall Anway, AIA is a Registered Architect in New York and Connecticut. He specializes in design research inspired by natural patterns and systems. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut. A Certified Biomimicry Specialist since 2011, he offers research and educational design consulting through his Connecticut firm, New Tapestry, LLC (www.new-tapestry.com).
