Hector de Avila teaches Legal Spanish at the McGeorge School of Law, a course that seeks to prepare bilingual students and students who are proficient in Spanish to represent Spanish speaking clients in the U.S. legal system or to work in Spanish on matters involving U.S.-Latin American relations. De Avila also teaches Business Administration online courses in Spanish for the University of Phoenix. De Avila is the founder of the de Avila law firm where he handles cross-border business cases, real estate transactions in Mexico, legal matters for Mexican nationals residing in the US before Mexican legal institutions, and legal interpreter services for US law firms representing Spanish speaking clients before US legal institutions. In Mexico, de Avila was a legal assistant with Notaria Publica Numero 22 and a Legal Advocate and Hearing Officer for the Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor in Aguascalientes.
