Teaching Legal Skills to International Faculty and Students

The opportunities to teach legal skills to faculty and students abroad are plentiful and growing in variety and venue every day. In this presentation, we will present our experiences teaching legal skills in Lithuania as part of the Fulbright Senior Specialists program, and in Portugal, Japan, and South Korea, as part of an individually arranged program. We will address how to plan and arrange these types of teaching opportunities, and will discuss how to teach different international constituencies, including undergraduate and graduate students, and fellow law faculty members. In addition, we will offer suggestions about developing curriculum for these types of programs, and for continuing the dialog between host institution and visiting teacher by means of distance learning. We will include PowerPoint and other visual aspects in our presentation.
