Pentatonic Scales

CULTURE CLASH: Cherokee music is based on Pentatonic scales which contain five notes, & is how it gets its name

(Penta=5, tonic = tones).

Invading music is based on the Hepatonic scale which has 7 notes.

The ancient Greeks used a pentatonic scale. So does a lot of music today, especially country and blues.
