Hello everyone,
Another trying year has just past. Many issues, most still needing resolve. The Company clearly disrespecting you and and your collective rights. The past practices that we have negotiated over the years are being replaced with new policy. Seating like children in a classroom punished if you even try to get a seat you may need due to lighting or scent issues for example. Leaves me to wonder Why cause such stress and such dis- engagement on your employees. Happy employee productive employee seems to be left to the way side and a well oiled machine is what they are asking us to become. The fact is none of their Ideas are new ideas we have trampled down these paths before. Most changes involve defunct process that hold us down. RT's have replaced caring about customers needs. They have a team of managers gathering data on how we can keep our customers from going on-line to do their bookings. Yet they are driving our customers to the internet for credits. We have great ideas, after all we deal with the customers, yet our advice or opinion often falls on deaf ears.
You all work it so I know the level of frustration , stress and disappointment by talking to you daily.
We have a scheduled UMHQ meeting in the new year and many of our grievances will go to arbitration in the new year. We must remain united and challenge all that does not feel right. We need to protect our future. Change is constant and in some cases not the problem, it is the complete lack of respect this Company executes with your collective agreement and communication. Sadly 5 years ago we believed they wanted to embrace us and our culture.
I anticipate next year to be equally as challenging. Take the next few days to relax look after your selves and family, friends. Happy holidays and New Years. I will see most of your before the new year those already away I wish the very best to.
Ross.

In addition please bring by a donation to the Downtown Eastside Womens Shelter. Some of you have already brought some stuff by but we could all do much more for these less fortunate folks.
Some of the much needed items are as follows...
New pj's, robes, mitts, gloves, scarves, socks, undies, toiletries, make up,candy or gift certificates.
In addition gifts for teens, certificates ie best buy or future shop, games, toys
and non perishables for the food hamper.
Lets try to give a little to this essential organization.
Finally take some time to focus on family and loved ones this holiday season most of us walk out of here feeling stressed and uncertain to where we are going. What really matters are the people in our lives and we need to show them we appreciate them.
With out a doubt we need to work smarter not harder, best of health to all,
