Hello Everyone,
The shift committee is sitting this week and are well on their way to developing your new shifts.
I just want to explain briefly how the overtime is being offered. The company is offering it in small blocks this time around of 60 or so hours a day on the phones with less hours in the support departments. The most senior full time agent with the least accumulated o.t. will be first to be awarded. I know some of you have asked why you are being declined and this may be one of the reasons....
In the past Overtime was given out more generously and we rarely had anyone declined. If you do get declined just be persistant and eventually it will come to your senority as you will have the least accumulated hours. Your accumulated hours are set back to zero every three months.
Operationally, I have scheduled an 1803 meeting with the company this Friday to address all outstanding local issues. In the next two weeks your bargaining committee will meet first in YYZ followed by a UMHQ meeting here in Vancouver.
I urge you to bring forward any concerns or issues were always open for business.
Thanks,
Ross and your Union Team.
