Local 2002 requires 2 (two) Pension Communications Representatives for the Local 2002 Pension Plans at Aeroplan as follows:
One CAW Plan member is required from the Vancouver (YVR) office
One CAW Plan member is required from the Montreal (YUL) office and should be bilingual (French & English) for communications purposes
The members appointed by the Union are expected to be a liaison between the Company and the CAW members of the Plans and will work with the Bargaining Committee. The duties of the Pension Communications Committee will not include amending the provisions of the Plan.
The duties of the Pension Communications Representatives are:
promote awareness and understanding of the Plans among CAW members
review, at least once every year, the financial, actuarial and administrative aspects of the Plans
such other administrative duties as are presented by the applicable Pension legislation and/or the administrator
provide support and information to the Bargaining Committee
other duties as may be specified by the Plans or the CAW
Qualifications required:
must be a CAW / Aeroplan member in good standing from Local 2002
should have an interest in Pension benefits requires a commitment to share information and communicate with members
willing to attend a minimum of two meetings per year and be able to travel
knowledge of pension plans, benefits, and/or retirement savings programs an asset
The term of office will be held until December 31st, 2012.
The successful candidate will report to the President of CAW Local 2002.
