Ingredient Amount
Sweet breads (calves, lamb, beef) 3 lb.
Onions, diced 4 oz.
Butter 3 oz.
Water 6 oz.
Kicap Manis 3 Tbsp.
Tomato Ketchup 3 tsp.
Salt 2 tsp.
Cloves, ground 1/4 tsp.
Nutmeg, ground 1/2 tsp.
Black pepper, ground 1 tsp.
Method
1. Soak sweet breads overnight in cold salted water.
2. Remove from water, pat dry, steam over a wok for 10 minutes. Cool. Slice into 1-inch thick slices.
3. Sauté onion in butter until golden brown, add water, kicap manis, ketchup, spices.
4. Add sweet breads slices to liquid, cover pot and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove cover and simmer 5 minutes more or until sauce thickens slightly.
5. Serve with steamed Jasmine rice and stir fried greens
