Type portraits

This is a very common project, my students did well with it. I will say this though, our computers did reach their limit with just about everybody's files, haHAAA! It was funny watching them just slow to a crawl after a certain amount of letters. It's a good lesson for them to just play with type, there's so many solutions that I was surprised they turned out this well so early in our type unit. I'm still struggling to find lessons where traditional type setting and adjusting is interesting for them. I have yet to really hit upon projects that are interesting and it's a shame because that is a bulk of a graphic designers job. Well, anyways, here's a few of the successful ones, including some unfinished ones.
