I'm about ready to drop this project from the curriculum or at least expand it's choice range. Nothing against kittens and roses, they're great, but if there was a way for me to encourage more unorthodox choices, I would pay the heaviest of prices... my first unborn son (for students reading this I'm just being facetious). There's gotta be some way I could push kids into different subject matter, I could require topics, do a random draw of themes from a hat. Maybe force kids to partner up and have pairs pick paintings for each other. Granted they're some great paintings this year, I've got a lot of talented painters. They just seem to be stuck on this project and its simplicity. I don't really mind that much I'm just going to have to switch things up to encourage more experimentation and exploration early on.
OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT KITTY... Relax Turek it's a monkey... Ohhh, ok...
Reminds me of Morandi.
