My students always do fairly decent with this project for how alien it is. Not many students picked foreshortening, so I'll have to refine that project a bit more. I might also have to do more with the Chinese mountain one. They just lack that hook that should take hold and allow students to create something they're interested in. And that could be because they are so narrow. It's hard though to find that hook, I think I might have to make more effort to expand upon how these other perspective methods could be used, like maybe just let go of the restrictions. I could emphasize the concept and let go of the more traditional forms, the problem I have with that though is the complexity of the forms. They seem like they won't be as complex, and I think I'm okay with that, but I want to see them mess with tools in new ways.
