Yayyy, I finally finished my college kiosk project thingy... This would not be possible by the way without the help of Mr. Fellows and his students who were kind enough to lend me hardware, tools, and help. I also had my student aides help paint it. What it says of course is "Make smart choices in your life" with "make art your life" in a different color just to be clever, actually I'm not that clever, stole it from a t-shirt I saw somewhere, probably on tumblr. Anyhew, it's got shelves I attached and then there's tons of college info in each shelf. Pamphlets, handouts, breakdowns of majors and schools, look books, and all sorts of other promotional materials. Basically I canvased ever major university's admissions departments for information on their prospective programs. I actually got emails back, surprise surprise, and from some pretty big schools, UIC among them. They actually sent a rep. who gave a short talk to all my classes and was a pleasure to have. The bins are filled with stuff, some schools sent literally stacks of stuff to me so I'm letting the kids take whatever it is they need if there's duplicates. I also inserted a quick list of all of the schools and what art degrees they offer. It's by no means a comprehensive list in any way shape or form but it does quickly give you an idea of schools that offer art and what they offer based on what I was able to find.
A link to my college list for Illinois.
And below, the actual shelves.
