Students had to take a piece of music of their own choosing to react to and make an abstract composition. They had to show visual rhythm, use value, and stay abstract. Most of them were really well done, I should go through and label which song is which artwork but I'm too lazy. Comment if you think you have a good guess! Some you can see the song written in the extra white space. I only remember a few of them, and I also took a survey of what students had picked, which I'll have to post. It's all interesting, their artistic choices, their music, and just the range and amount of variety.

This student's sketches are pictured at left. They had to think of at least a couple sketches before proceeding, and they had to be sure of what their piece of music was as well. interesting to see their thought process, this example was particularly idiosyncratic of this student.
