This project did not go so well. I probably have to build up to it a bit more or structure how I teach improvised forms more. A large majority of my students just don't really use perspective at all to truly build anything interesting/complex. Which is fine, like I said, I just need to change the buildup and emphasize certain forms and such. It's almost as if I need to require them to build specific shapes first then say, do what you will with these shapes or they won't struggle to make complex shapes. Making the requirement that they only have 30 shapes set the bar too low, no one experimented or combined forms. This makes me think though that if I ask for combined forms to be the only ones that count towards the 30 then I'm just going to get 30 L shaped tetrominos. Oh well, we'll try again next year, some good examples are below.
