This years painting class is very fractured and the pace of students is all over the place. A lot of students have a very naturally disciplined and talented and pursue a project doggedly until its done, and there's quite a few fast students that sort of make more impulsive decisions and lack the discipline for long paintings or dedicated processes. Both are valid avenues of art making but I think I need a curriculum for faster more casually disinterested students, they need the most flexibility to find something they'll dedicate themselves to. Oddly enough these faster students have found work they've slowed down with but its taken a while to get there. I'm not sure if they have to just blaze through a couple paintings before they settle on something or if there's a way to catch all types of student in something they're interested in and learn a concrete concept at the same time. Below are a couple exceptional examples of student work of random projects. Check the curriculum if you want to know which projects these are.
