BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

"Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."

by Bruce Lee

And what about this quotation by Albert Einstein? It is most appropriate to my case:

"I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn."

"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." by Confucius

"To be, or not be: that is the question" (Hamlet, by Shakespeare)

"To pass, or not to pass: that is your choice...... and here I am to help you!!!" (by Albert)

''No man is an island...' John Donne

What do I have in mind when organizing this kind of experiences for my students??? Read this quote and you'll understand.

"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." by Albert Einstein

English Department in Averroes

Here are some important pieces of news about the new Selectivity exam, PEVAU:

PEVAU: una selectividad única en toda España

The example of Murcia

Excellent hint from Susana Pérez (4º ESO A)

This is the right attitude to face challenges in life, especially at school.

Here the main recommendations for my students regarding these two weeks at home:

Welcome to the official BBC News YouTube channel. Interested in global news with an impartial perspective?

UNBEATABLE RESULTS OF OUR NON-BILINGUAL STUDENTS IN THE SELECTIVITY EXAM OF ENGLISH!!!! They already had an incredibly high mean of 7,6 in their marks in 2º Bachillerato and they have amazingly improved by 0,5 points as they have had a mean 8,1 in the Selectivity exam of English!!!!! And the median was 8,6.

As I said some time ago, here's my challenge with my non-bilingual students' results: I don't ask you to beat, just equalize it and you will get the prize: BEING THE HAPPIEST TEACHER ON EARTH!!!

And they have all passed the Selectivity exams!!!

Historical achievement by our non-bilingual IES Mediterraneo students!!!!

Our students making history!!!!

Apart from Mª José García and Andrea Gutiérrez (4º ESO), who got their B1 in English in the Official Language School last June, another 5 students have passed their exams this September: María Béjar, Alex España, Joaquín García, Alberto Pineda & Mª Irene Ramón!!! And Guillermo Romero, who also came on our study trips, has passed his B2 in English and his B1 in French!!!  Et félicitations à tous ceux qui ont réussi aussi dans leurs examens de français à l'École Officielle des Langues.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Mª José García and Andrea Gutiérrez (4º ESO) for obtaining their B1 in English in the Official Language School!!!! In September I'm sure we'll have again better news when the rest of the students who entered the exam and didn' t pass all the parts have a second chance. Et félicitations à tous ceux qui ont réussi aussi dans leurs examens de français à l'École Officielle des Langues. COME ON , YOU CAN !!!  Allez, vous pouvez!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO Beatriz González (1º Bach A) for obtaining her B2 in English in the Official Language School!!!!

Congratulations to Clara Prados for having achieved the second highest mark in the Selectivity exams in the province of Granada.

Another interesting article to read.

And congratulations to all our students as they have all passed and they have obtained excellent results in the Selectivity exams, especially in English, whose mean (Albert's students) was 7,2 and whose mean in the Selectivity exam has been 7,3.

  MOST INTERESTING.

Our dear Philosophy teacher, José Luis, has just discovered something about a course on writing skills organized by the University of Reading for our students in Bachillerato. It lasts 5 weeks and, the most important, it is free.

Here is the link to the course if you want to sign in: https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/english-for-study

The level recommended to be able to follow the course is IELTS 4.5 (You can check it in this table), so good students of bachillerato should have no problems.

JUST HAVE A LOOK AT AND THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!   Don't chicken out!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Elena Pérez (2º ESO A) for her B2 at INSTITUTE OF MODERN LANGUAGES. They have just sent me some information about SUMMER ENGLISH COURSES (If you are interested, you can contact your English teacher, Albert).
