Where The Crawdads Sing

By: Delia Owens Book Review By: Munya N

How long can someone protect their heart?

Catherine Daniel Clark, Kya, is known as the "Marsh Girl" for living in isolation in the Marsh. One by one, her family members started leaving her. At the end, Kya was officially alone at age eight taking care of herself. She slowly began to lose hope of her family's returning, not even her mom. It's was a long time for Kya to not see humans. Yet at night, when no one can see her, she goes to Jumpin's store to get the most important things she needs. Just when everything seems lost, and hope is nowhere to be seen, Kya met Tate Walker. When the first time their eyes met, Kya's soul came back to life again. Tate taught Kya how to read, write, and how to study the Marsh closely. While doing that, Tate felt a close connection with her. Kya and Tate were close friends, until Tate Walker left for college and never came back.... A murder happened in the Marsh, and Kya was accused of it. Chase Andrews was killed after a four year relationship with Kya. Delia Owens never mentioned who killed Chase, so read this book and found out. Is the "Marsh Girl" innocent, or is she a murder? Who is Amanda Hamilton? Why'd Kya's family leave her? Did Tate return? Read Where The Crawdads Sing and I'll assure you that every lost of hope you had, you'll have even high hopes from seeing what Kya faced. The unthinkable always happens, it needs to happen.
