A Walk Through a Forest

Anonymous

The snow dipped trees quake with cold

No trace of human life

The forest deems its hope as sold

Pushing through the strife

What is that, your keen eyes see?

Consider them deceived

Someone, something makes to flee,

Its tidings preconceived

A squirrel, perhaps a fox,

Dashing ‘cross the snow

It’s no September equinox

At least that’s what I know

How could something be so brave

To walk against the chill?

Leave behind its cozy cave

To slowly trudge uphill

No, you are mistaken

‘Twas a whisper in the wind

To account you must take in

The population’s thinned

Alas, I must depart

My walk is at an end

Nature, like an art,

Fades away around the bend

Midnight to Twilight, Night is Everlasting

Anonymous

The beauty, encouraged by the setting sun,

Aroused by the pallid moon.

Reflects upon the trees.

Dyed violet from the setting sun,

Creeps across the darkened town.

Each movement quick, smooth.

Advancing with the grace of a dancer.

Its velvet palms encircle the city,

A cloak of midnight specked by stars.

The constellations close above,

Pasted through the sky.

Violet and indigo with polka dots of white,

The stars reflected upon the shut windows.

So beautiful, close enough to touch.

The fragile fragments threaten to shatter,

The mystical display soon over.

A Song a Bird Sings Over and Over

Tell me evening birds

About the dance with a song

About the tears of children and people in hard times

About the heart of somberness.

Tell me stars of heaven

About the country of darkness

where the clouds are mild

Hearts pure as water.

Tell me evening sky

About tears and dreams

About strange shadows

that disappear

into tomorrow,

which marks the start

of a new day.

I know the day won’t bring what I want,

but the sun begins with a whisper

Then sings a song of an elated feast.

I’ll make my tears sparkle;

Tell the stories I had

And learn earth orbits

And so do we.

More Love

Supply me with an excuse of love,

and I’ll never be ashamed.

I’ll ask you to tell me the truth

And I hope you don’t give me a lie.

Love is life, we have our youth.

We all have the right to live:

the right to love

the right to die.

Say to those who went before me

choose right to love

And the ones after me

Chose the right to live.

I once have gone away with my beloved;

A secret we had thinner than a breeze.

I’ll give you a good fortune,

which shines on its face.

So live and be happy

For the Earth turns around

and you don’t know

what will happen.

Don’t say life isn’t facing you

Because you aren’t facing life.

Don’t Love Me

I shouldn’t blame you

for hating me.

I should blame myself.

I didn’t love myself,

so that is when I understood

the reason you didn’t love me

Back.

Chapter and a Title

I read,

and my books define me.

I found you.

But after a time I discovered

that you were just a chapter in my book,

and I was the stupid title on your cover.

How ironic is that, dear chapter!

Better

After I knew your dark truth,

I knew what life is!

You know,

It is better to be hated for what you are

Rather than be loved for what you aren’t.

Wrong

Who said you were wrong for leaving?

You made a sin just by coming back

And who gave you the thought of having me?

You can’t.

Never did, never will.
