Warm Up:

Target Number

Make as many equations as possible to make the target number using addition and subtraction.

Example: 5 + 6+ 2 = 13 or 7 + 5 + 6 - 5 = 13

Main Task : Use compatible numbers to solve problems like 5 + 3 + 6 – 8. Add three or more numbers by first making up pairs that add up to 10.

Here is an example: 8 + 5 + 1 + 2 = → 8 + 2 = 10 → 10 + 5 + 1 = 16

Fill in the missing number so that each row on each rocket adds up to the total at the top. The first one is started for you.

Main Task :
