Feline Fun!
Imagine you are one of these cats. Tell the story of what is happening and what happens next.
Although it may not be obvious, there’s a direct connection between your energy use and the environment. When you consume less power, you reduce the amount of toxic fumes released by power plants, conserve the earth’s natural resources and protect ecosystems from destruction. By taking steps to reduce your energy intake, you’ll contribute to a healthier and happier world.
There are many ways you can save energy.
Don’t leave the tap running while you wash your hands or brush your teeth.
Wear a jumper instead of turning the heating on.
Always turn off lights, televisions, computers and games consoles when you are finished.
Read a book or play a board game instead of watching television.
Recycle as much as you can- this uses much less energy than making new materials.
Walk or ride a bicycle instead of travelling in the car.
Have short showers instead of baths.
Never leave the fridge door open. Decide what you want before you open it.
Keep windows closed when the heating is on.
Pick 5 things you can do to contribute to saving energy this lockdown. Create a comic strip showing each of the ones you have chosen. Encourage your friends and families to help by sharing these tips with them!

Hulk’s Day Off
Life was tough being the Incredible Hulk.
Last week had been extremely tiring and Hulk was relieved that today was his day off.
Walking the dog had always been one of Hulk’s favourite things to do on a Sunday because he could completely relax and put to the back of his mind all of the things that had made him feel stressed during the week.
For years, Hulk had struggled to control his fierce, outrageous temper and extraordinary strength but every so often, something would still go badly wrong.
On one occasion, he had become so angry with the traffic lights on his way to work that he had completely crushed the steering wheel! On another, he had punched a hole in the side of his house when trying to swat a fly! Just the other day, Hulk had stubbed his toe on the corner of his bed, so had thrown his bed out of the window where it landed on top of the next door’s car…
Today he was determined to not find himself in any embarrassing situations. The day was going well until...

A Car with Hands!
It’s a car with hands!
Write a short story to go along with this picture.
The Treaty of Waitangi is New Zealand’s founding document. It takes its name from the place in the Bay of Islands where it was first signed, on 6 February 1840. This day is now a public holiday in New Zealand. The Treaty is an agreement, in Māori and English, that was made between the British Crown and about 540 Māori rangatira (chiefs).
Make your own treaty for you and everyone who lives in your house. Remember to include other people's ideas and make sure everyone agrees. Get each family member to sign it. This could be a promise that your family is making to each other for the rest of the lockdown. Remember to try and make the treaty look old by ripping the edges, crinkling it and maybe colouring it brown or putting tea bags on the paper to give it an old ancient look.
Some ideas you may like to include on your treaty:
Saying kind things to each other
Helping around the house
Cleaning up after yourself
Being positive

The Fuzzle
Far away from here, in a distant land that few people have heard the name of before (let alone visited), there lives a fuzzle. Well, fuzzles, to be exact. You see, there is a family of them!
Shy and elusive creatures, fuzzles keep themselves to themselves, and therefore are rarely seen by human beings. Their fuzzlets (young fuzzles) are even shyer, but have been spotted occasionally clinging onto their mother’s back.
As you have probably guessed, this is a story all about fuzzles. You are about to find out what extraordinary creatures they really are...

The amount of plastic on our planet is increasing and it is damaging the environment, wildlife and our health. Large amounts of plastic rubbish is thrown away every year and this ends up on land and in oceans.
Plastic can also be useful, It is used to make all sorts of everyday items such as food containers and toys. Look around you and you will see many things which are made of plastic.
Although Plastic can be useful, it can also be dangerous. Plastic is made of oil and chemicals. Plastics that are left in landfills or in our oceans give out these harmful chemicals. This can then damage the environment and the wildlife that lives in it. Animals and marine creatures can become trapped in plastic objects which then make it hard for them to move, eat or even breathe. Humans are affected by plastic pollution too. Plastic is found in our drinking water. Even food that we eat may have plastic chemicals in it. We do not know exactly how plastic affects humans but scientists believe that it is not good for our health.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle There are lots of things that we can all do to help end plastic pollution. We need to reduce the amount of plastic that we use. We need to reuse plastic items that we already have. And finally, we need to recycle plastic instead of throwing it in the normal bin.
Read the text and use the information to create a poster warning people about the harmful effects plastic can have on our environment, and what we can do to help.
