Here are your poem activities for this week: Remember to read the poem each day
Monday - after reading the poem, draw a picture of what you visualized
Tuesday - explore words that rhyme with ‘big’ - make a list using your favourite colours, write them outside with chalk or with water and a paintbrush
Wednesday - find 3 words in the poem that make the long a vowel sound with this letter pattern, remember the e is silent - a_e, make flash cards for these words.
Thursday - make 3 more flashcards for these words: rake, tape, whale. With your 6 flashcards see how quickly you can read them. Then ask someone to hide them in your house, and then on ‘go’ see how quickly you can find them or have your someone tell you one word at a time to find
Friday - find 5 words with the ‘ed’ ending. What other words do you know that can have an ‘ed’ on the end of them? Can you spot 2 words in the poem that have a ‘ch’ sound in them? Then go outside and see what items you can find from nature to make your own ‘ch’. Maybe you could make your own cake with your family to enjoy for the weekend!
