Literature Review Section 2 - Glow

Our senior capstone research paper is split into four sections. This assignment is section 2, discussing the problem of our topic. Since our topic focuses on the effects of carrying methods on musculoskeletal health, this section must include information from scholarly resources that backs up and proves that this is a problem. This is what section 2 of my research paper covers: the impact Chad's infrastructure has on transportation systems, how head-loading physically strains the body, and the roots of the problem. This section was successfully done as all prompts were completed and our writing has proven the problem. My skills in research and argumentative writing were put into this section and are demonstrated. Our performance has given us a 98/100.

Mid-Year Writing Task - Grow

For this marking period, we were tasked to read three given articles and construct an essay comparing and contrasting the documents to prove an original thesis statement. This was to be done in one class period, 80 minutes. The task was challenging since the articles were each eight to twelve pages and we were given limited time to gather information. The strategies I used to manage my time is skimming through the articles and taking notes. The topic of the articles was the lack of support for mental health and my thesis statement was "Mental health primarily develops due to the lack of support from resources." My grade on this essay was an 85/100, which could have been better. Since I spent too much time reading the articles, I had very little for the essay as I wrote it without proofreading. This assignment has shown me the reality of reading multiple long articles and writing an essay in only such a limited time. More assessments like this will serve as a practice for me to improve my skills.
