Transfer System (VEX V5)
Using VEX V5 materials and our learning of how manufacturers manage costs, we were tasked to create a conveyor belt that is cost-effective. The conveyor belt would be used as a transfer system for the workers to build a product, depending on their station. As shown in the picture, the first station is where the beginning of the building takes place and the product would then be placed on the conveyor belt. This build uses two sensors which each represent the two other stations, in which where the additional building of the product takes place. This project was successful as we were able to build 5 of the products within a short amount of time. What could have been done differently, however, is the cost of our build as it was the highest among other builds. There were other materials that could have been replaced with lower costs. This project has enhanced my learning of managing cost and time when building to get the desired results.
