Chain Reaction Project
For this project, we were tasked to create a robot that is designed and programmed to participate in a chain reaction with other robots. The overall goal of this chain reaction is to have each robot to demonstrate a certain motion that can activate the next robot and to be able to be activated. My group and I chose to use a reciprocating motion on our robot, which uses a linear gear train that will move in a back and forth motion for the next robot to sense it and activate. While each group member had different roles, I had the role of programming the robot to do specific tasks and make decisions. With the bumper switch on the robot, it acts as a user input for another robot to press and allow our robot to move on to the next robot. The distance sensor on our robot detects how far away the next robot is to know when to stop. To design and construct the robot, we used our past learning of our recent projects and the PLTW build guides. Overall, this project meets all given requirements as our robot was able to effectively be activated by and activate another robot, while being in a loop. This project demonstrates my collaboration and programming skills as this project was successful.
