Building an Electron Hotel - Glow
This assignment was a quiz-grade assignment that covered the topic of quantum numbers. Using the theme of a Hotel, we were tasked to choose an element and determine its number of electrons. For each electron, we needed to find its quantum numbers and assign them to floors and rooms of a "hotel" as a way to understand each electron's differences from each other. This assignment is a Glow because it reflects my understanding of electrons and quantum numbers. The most difficult of this assignment, however, was making sure that the quantum numbers for each electron was correct and that there should not be the same set of quantum numbers. This assignment was effective in helping me develop my understanding on how to quickly and easily find the quantum numbers of an electron.
Atomic Emission and Bohr Model Test - Grow
The attached assignment shows my notes/test prep for the Atomic Emission and Bohr Model Test. This assignment covered the topics of the Rydberg Equations, the equations relating to the energy of a photon, and the Bohr Model. My performance on this test was not too bad, however, it could have been better. This is a Grow because I did not have much of a great understanding of Bohr Models and how they worked since we were just introduced to the topic. However, this test has helped me understand atomic emissions better based on my errors and correcting them. What I could have done differently for this test is to prep better by taking more notes and practicing self-studying. This test has helped me learn how to prepare for upcoming tests better, though.
