How effective is Project-Based Learning?
A study was done in 2021 to test how effective project-based learning was compared to ordinary instruction. In this study elementary students were split into two groups and were taught by the two different methods. The results of this study showed that students who received project-based instruction scored higher on their academic tests than students who received normal instruction (Ferrero, 2021)
Project-Based learning is a type of instruction that allows students to explore the curriculum through projects and hands on experiences.
Project-Based learning has many benefits such as improving students critical thinking, obtaining collaboration and communication skills, and allowing students to explore their creativity.
Project-Based learning is also shown to better benefit students rather than regular instruction such as lectures and presentations by the teacher.
Project-Based learning has endless opportunities and can be used in many different ways.
Project-Based learning is a great way to allow students to be independent and show their creativity. I think this type of instruction is very beneficial to students because they have more freedom to work in the way that is best for them and show their understanding of the curriculum as well. I also believe that having chances to work hands on can also help students understand material better than just receiving information.
