Samantha Howell- Tara I enjoyed looking at the picture of the project you saw with the third-grade teacher. I also struggle with creativity. I feel like I have some creativity, but I would definitely like to get more creative to make the classroom fun for my students. I also think that it is important to understand that every student is different and that they all learn differently. I think student-centered is a great idea because it gives them the opportunity to decide what works for them with keeping in mind that you are the teacher and have the knowledge for them, I also think it's a great idea to let students learn from other students.
Kaitlyn Flaherty: Tara! Your page is so calming and inviting. I love that you included personal details that helped you pursue your interest in education. It felt like you were instantly inviting me to learn more about you. I love that your classroom is going to be student-centered, I feel like that's perfect for the grades you're wanting to teach. The upper elementary level students need to be pushed to reach those goals and I feel like if they're given customization and choice, it will be easier. Overall, you did an amazing job on your page.
I to struggle with creativity but I do believe with time and direction it something that I can learn to become better at. I also chose essentialism as the teacher I would like to become and do agree that the classroom should be more student centered. I also like the idea of having personalized materials since some students learn differently
Emily Harsch- I do agree with you that everyone comes in with different experiences. We have to realize that although one student might know it all, the other student may not. It depends on what teacher they came from before as well and how well they obtained that knowledge. I also interned in highschool and did a similar project and they were one of my favorites as well!!
Hey Tara! I enjoyed reading your page and I believe that trying to accommodate students' differences will also be challenging for me but I will get better with time. I think that having that passion for teaching is hard to have so once you have it the rest will follow! - Jennifer Gomez
Tara, I love that you included a picture of one of your favorite projects. When I was younger, I was pretty creative, but it seems that in adulthood, I am not as creative as I used to be, so I need to learn how to gain that creativity back. I also took music when I was in school and my middle school music teacher is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. She was one of those teachers I could go to for anything which is the type of teacher I aspire to be for my future students. - Isis Meadows
Hi Tara, nice to meet you. You have tons of siblings, which is awesome! I have one younger brother, he lives In NYC with my mother and family. You play violin? How cool! I can play piano, I'm not the best at it though, I would say I’m okay. I agree that his class will definitely be implementing good teaching habits. In terms of creativity, I too feel as if my creative side has waned down a bit, but I tend to do tons of arts and crafts at home to keep my creative side at its peak. I think when you're put in a predicament where you have to be innovative, you will be. I think you're very creative, your page says it all. - Sarina Caro
