Who am I
My name is Isis Meadows. I am 24 years old, and currently working full time as an Ophthalmic Technician and Scribe while also going to school to get my bachelors in Elementary Education. I am one of five children. I have an older sister, a twin sister (fraternal), a younger sister, and a stepbrother. I got engaged a little over a year ago to my high school sweetheart, but we are waiting to get married until after we buy a house. I have a 3 year old nephew who the absolute sweetest and funniest boy! I love dancing, singing, riding four wheelers, and hanging out with friends.
What I Know
I know that I definitely have a lot to learn, but I am excited about this new journey. Growing up, I always wanted a profession where I can help people and I will definitely be able to help a lot of kids while teaching.
I strive to become the teacher that my students are comfortable with and can rely on. I want my students to be able to come to me when they need help or just need someone to talk to.
I know I have a lot to learn before I become a teacher. I need to learn how to create lesson plans and how to manage a classroom.

Hi Isis,
Congratulations on your engagement! I met my husband in college at 18, got married at 21, and we just celebrated our 16 year anniversary. My dream as a kid has always been to help people too. When I was younger it was exactly what I'm pursuing now, to be an elementary teacher, I got off track a bit but never deviated from my initial goal. I then wanted to help women and children mainly, but people needing a bit of assistance for a 2nd chance getting back on their feet. Again, that changed once my little ones came in the picture and I did an about-face back to my original plan of becoming an elementary teacher. I also feel we are in the right place to gain the knowledge we'll need (lesson plans and classroom management) to start our teaching careers.

Hi Isis,
I think having the desire to help people is always a perk and maybe even a necessary thing when being a teacher. I think it's also important to be someone your students can be comfortable with because outside of their homes with their families, most of the time, you are the next best thing that the students have. I also think I need to learn how to manage a classroom so hopefully our hours in the classroom this semester will give us some ideas. Good luck to you and congratulations on your engagement. -Faith Pitt
