JT, I really enjoyed your use of incorporating different historic images into you slide. Honestly just by scrolling thorough your pages I could immediatley tell that you wanted to be a history teacher. I also agree with having a student-centered class! It will allow students to have to take more of a responisbility in learning. I have no doubt that you will be an amazing History teacher one day. -Jade Newport
I am also a history major so I resonate a lot with your page! I feel like the social studies cannot truly escape perennialism. I agree that being anxious I also need to learn but I think it will go away with experience. I really like your page and how you did the graphics and its truly unique.

Hi JT! I really resonated with what you said about the purpose of school, school should ultimately prepare you for whatever 'next step' you are going to take in life! I also really resonated with your statement that what we have to learn is endless. - Jordan Hershberger.
JT, I too feel that the professions we are choosing means our own educations are never ending. The types of students and classroom environments we have will constantly change, meaning we will have to quickly adapt and try to do so seamlessly. I just think about my peers and I were as students in grades school 20+ years ago (I'm a bit older), but my point is, the way classrooms were run then is not the same way classrooms are run now.

JT, I like your use of historical slides for your page considering you want to be a history teacher. I too feel very anxious at times and have to take a deep breath to calm myself down at times and I plan on teaching my future students to do this too for when they start to get frustrated or flustered. I also feel like it is important for the students to know that they are being heard and that their opinions matter because a lot of times, teachers disregard students and make them feel like their ideas do not matter or are not good enough.

JT, I love the graphics you used on your Author page, especially the one with the mountains and buildings. I think it is cool that you dropped marine biology and found something that fulfills your passions. My favorite time in history to study is the same time period as you! Especially the 1920's Jazz / flapper era in America. I really like your outlook on teaching and think you will make a great history educator. I can really see you being a teacher that the students NEED. I look forward to working with you and developing a connection! -Zach Myers
JT! I super enjoyed reading your About the Author page, especially the part about hearing stories of your grandpa being a wonderful educator! I can relate to that. I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was little, so it's cool to me to see someone discover it, after trying something different. I agree with you that we are always learning, and I think your future students will be lucky to have you. - Megan Angel
