Interesting, I used to play school as a kid with my cousins. I set up a whole class and made pretend textbooks I would teach them from. I do believe learning is a continuous process that we truly never stop doing and it is important we are able to acknowledge that.

I thought I was the only child playing school at a young age. I am glad to see someone else did too. Also I think learning is a continous process because the world is constantly changing everyday. The way that we were taught is not the same way kids in the future will be taught. Gaining confidence in yourself will help you a lot when you start teaching. I loved reading this!!!
I love how most teachers today started with a passion for it in their early school years! I was the same way throughout my entire education. Realizing what a huge impact certain teachers had on me showed the importance of teachers in the lives of their students. I agree that teaching students independence is so important for their success, especially in the early years! Confidence is also something I struggle with, especially with something as impressionable as teaching! We got this! - Ashlie Walker
I love your pages color theme and how all the drawings are the same art style. I think the teacher you want to become sounds great, I know your students will love going to your class. I also live in Suffolk, I'm hopping to work at the middle school thats just a couple mile from my home. -Dawn Corporan
As a kid I would always make my little brother play school with me and I would make assignments up and even grade them. I would even have lunchtime ( make him a sandwich ) ! Ive always have enjoyed the classroom enviroment. - Mia Warren
I used to volunteer every summer at the VBS so I could be a summer camp teacher, which allowed me to become much more patient. I love how artistc your page was. -Andrea Tapia
Hi Ashley!
I'm currently a specials teacher so I see all grades K-5 every day and over 1000 students a week. I can tell you, to teach Kindergarten is a brave adventure LOL. I am definitely not cut out to be a Kinder classroom teacher. But I think you might be! In your "What I know" section.. you described everything a kinder teacher should be! You need to be able to listen and hear peoples feelings and needs; some days are really rough and knowing how to be kind in the those situations is key; PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE.. something I often struggle during my kinder instruction; and creativity. Creative teachers create creative minds! Stick to what you know! You are going to be fantastic! - Arlissa Gallant
I absolutely love your presentation! I agree with you on teaching students creativity. I think when students learn in their own way they understand topics better! I want to stress the importance of kindness in my classroom as well! - madisyn mann
Hey Ashley! I love your passion for your future profession. We all have our moments where we lack confidence in our abilities to fulfill a task/role, but I believe you will thrive as a teacher. Also, students tend to gravitate to teachers who listens & genuinely cares for them when they're in need. Continue to be you and trust me they will be eager to be a part of Ms. Keeter's class! - Jalon King
