Store raw video in the Media team drive, under "Media > 01 Raw Videos". See the 2019 05 18 Lesson plan activities folder for an example of documenting the content of the videos. If you upload lots of videos, you may want to use a worker account because there is a lifetime limit on the amount of data that one user can upload to our Team Drives.
As you work on a video project, store the associated files in the Media team drive, under "Media > 02 Video Projects".
The default video editor is iMovie on the Macintosh computers.
Eu used Magisto, and has a license until the end of November 2019. It is a fast way to put together catchy videos quickly.
The Wondershare Filmora video editor is also recommended by Eu.
Barb owns a single-user license for Camtasia, on her Dell Windows laptop.
Format:
For social media marketing: vertical or square format, and short videos.
For videos to accompany lesson plans and activities: 30s - 2 min. See more suggestions below for format.
In 2019, Peter Traver created some videos (link them and their projects here!), and used the following tools: (state these here).
Audio cleanup:
Tom recommended an online service (add that info here when we remember it)
app.audostudio.com allows up to 30 minutes of cleanup a month.
Can be done with Camtasia.
There are several places to publish videos. I have just started reviewing this, but here is some info:
Navigation Games has a brand account. We can "act as" Navigation Games on Youtube and Google Photos. Jen and Tanairi were added as account managers on 3/20/2020. Since it is easy to integrate photos and videos from youtube into our website and other tools, it would be great to publish our content on youtube and google photos.
Barb has a personal account on Vimeo that includes these videos:
Orienteering motivational video (MSYEP, 1:50),
MSYEP showcase videos from 2016, 2017. MSYEP presentation video 2017, another part of same.
JWOC middle qualifier 2014. Juniors in AZ one, two, three, four. JWOC training day. Juniors course review. Childs brothers interview JWOC relay.
Morse school around 2012: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight
... and more ...
Some good stuff here -- it was for a while a good way to publish how to videos for computer things
I think we can upload content directly to Wix - but it might be nice to organize it on (say) youtube and then link to it from Wix.
