In this page you can see the maps that Navigation Games uses. Some are owned by Navigation Games, and some by other clubs (CSU, NEOC) or Orienteering USA. Each location here is manually created, so it is least up to date.
An alternative and more complete view of our maps is available at https://barb.shinyapps.io/maptest/ - for more information see the Map Organization page.
Course maps are usually made using the Purple Pen program on a Windows computer. From Purple Pen, we export PDFs for printing, and store both Purple Pen and PDF files in our Maps drive. Please visit the Course Maps page to learn how to make courses maps, and visit our Map Organization page to know where we keep the electronic files and printed maps.
Map Organization: Online and Printed
Please read this page to know how we keep our maps organized at Navigation Games. Maps and course maps are stored online in our Maps google drive in a specific way. Printed maps that we may re-use are stored in our file cabinet. We have a database (spreadsheet) of maps and an online viewer. The online viewer is documented here.
Visit the Making Maps page for information on how to make a map in OCAD or Open Orienteering Mapper.
