• Source decorations at your local hobby store or online. Some fun ideas:

  • Film reel paper dessert plates    

• Optional: Source popcorn boxes (gold or white) locally or online. 

▢ Source Food & Drink: 

• Champagne and Apple Cider: Ensure you have plenty of champagne for the event and Apple Cider as the non-alcoholic alternative. Estimate 2 drinks per attendee.

• Optional: Order additional drinks through a delivery service like Uber Eats or source them through the local beverage store. Estimate 2 alcoholic drinks per attendee and ensure you have non-alcoholic options available as well. 

• Source plenty of popcorn for the event. Individually wrapped popcorn is available online at The Popcorn Factory.

• Optional: Source other snacks depending on your budget. Cheese, fruit and vegetable trays from your local grocery store work well at this event.   

▢ Prepare for the Event:

• Ensure the Academy Awards are included in your television subscription. Academy Awards are televised on ABC.

• Bookmark or print an Oscar trivia quiz for entertainment during commercials. You can hand out $5-$10 gift cards as awards or name an overall winner at the end of the night for a grand prize. You can easily pick questions from these lists:

• Choose a space for the event that allows your residents to enjoy the Academy Awards in a comfortable setting. The space should have one large TV screen.
