▢ Source a Musician

• Search on the internet for a local musician to play for 1-2 hours. Sites like Thumbtack and Gig Salad will provide an array of options depending on your preference. 

• Keep it simple and inexpensive by hiring a single acoustic musician to play background music. Chat with the musician to ensure they can play the type of music you prefer. Summery background tunes should hit the spot! 

▢ Source an Ice Cream Vendor

• Catered:

  • Search the internet for a local ice creamery to cater your event. Many local shops will have different tiers of catering services depending on the length of your event, expected attendees, and types of ice cream & topping options provided. 

  • Ben & Jerry’s may be available in your area and they offer full packages where they set up, scoop,  and clean-up.

• Self-Catered:

  • Order 3-5 flavors of ice cream from your local ice cream shop. Be sure to include a variety of flavors, with & without chocolate, and a dairy-free option. 

• Alternatively, as residents which flavors they prefer via a Cobu poll! 

• • Purchase toppings from the grocery store: chocolate sauce, sprinkles, nuts, whipped cream, caramel, etc. 

  • Purchase ice cream cones, bowls, spoons, and napkins so residents can choose their container. 

▢ Set Up the Event

• Select a space that can accommodate the ice cream table, musician, and seating for residents. This event works well outdoors if so residents can spread out and enjoy the tunes! 

• Set up the ice cream table with a flow where residents can pick up their napkins, bowl & spoon or cone, get ice cream, and then add their toppings. 

• Ensure the musician has ample space, a seat, and access to an electrical outlet, if required.
