▢ Source Food & Drink:
Search for a local caterer for lunch or use ezCater to order and schedule a food delivery during your preferred time window.
Alternatively, ask your residents what type of food they’d prefer through a poll on Cobu!
Order drinks through a delivery service like Uber Eats or source them through the local beverage store. Estimate 2 alcoholic drinks per attendee and ensure you have non-alcoholic options available too.
▢ Source Supplies:
Option: Source building-branded water bottles or shopping bags as raffle items or giveaways to encourage eco-friendly reusable containers.
▢ Optional Earth Day Activities:
Create a separate Gathering prior to the Earth Day Picnic for residents interested in a park or beach cleanup. Provide residents with gloves and trash bags so they can head out together to clean up a local space before returning to enjoy the picnic.
Prior to the Earth Day Picnic, gauge resident interest in a community garden through a poll on Cobu. The Earth Day Picnic would be a perfect day to unveil a resident raised bed for all to contribute!
All ages activity: encourage residents & children to bring a clear recycling container to the picnic to create mini-greenhouses. They’ll provide the container and you can provide the soil and seeds!
▢ Set Up the Event:
Set up a long rectangular food table in your common area of choice. Drape the table in a tablecloth, if available.
Set up plates, utensils, and napkins on one end of the table so residents can get their supplies before filling their plates.
Set up a table exclusively for drinks. Offer a simple variety of drinks (soft drinks, beer, and wine) in icy tubs.
Ensure you have trash and many recycling receptacles available throughout the common space.
Set up a bluetooth speaker to play an earth day playlist or have residents contribute to a shared playlist on a service like Spotify.
