▢ Source Food & Drink:
Search for a local caterer for food or use ezCater to order and schedule a food delivery during your preferred time window.
Option: Keep it simple by offering Easter cupcakes or cookies from a local bakery.
▢ Source Supplies:
Order easter eggs, baskets, and bulk candy to fill the eggs. Estimate you’ll need ~10-20 eggs per child participating in the egg hunt. Small toys and stickers are other options to include in the eggs.
Option: Hire an Easter Bunny character so families can take photos during the egg hunt.
▢ Set Up the Event:
Fill each easter egg with 1-2 pieces of candy.
Determine the “search area” for the egg hunt. Keep it simple and easy to explain to residents & children but ensure you have enough hiding spots!
Hide the eggs! Leave some in easy-to-find locations and some in tougher spots.
Set up a long table with a tablecloth, if available, to display the baskets to be picked up by children and the baked goods/food.
Option: If you hired an Easter Bunny, set up an ideal photo area slightly away from the egg hunt.
▢ Run the Egg Hunt:
Set a specific egg hunt start time about ~30 minutes after the event start time to allow for families to arrive, snack on baked goods, and pick up their baskets.
Gather the families and let them know the rules for the egg hunt. You’ll want to share:
The boundaries of the egg hunt (e.g., the courtyard only, the lobby & clubhouse only, etc.)
How many eggs each child is allowed to collect (e.g., ask that kids only collect about a dozen eggs each so everyone gets a fair share)
The time limit for the egg hunt (eg., 20 minutes to find eggs)
Kickoff the egg hunt by pressing play on a fun Easter soundtrack for the duration of the hunt.
Option: Depending on your RSVPs and ages, consider splitting the event into two egg hunts, one for younger children and one for older.
▢ Cost Estimates:
Supplies: $100-200
Food: $100-200
Optional Easter Bunny: $100-150/hour
