▢ Source Supplies:

• Ensure you have plenty of disposable cocktail glasses. Purchase locally or online.

  • Mardi gras themed glasses

  • Mardi gras themed cocktail umbrellas

• Source mardi gras masks locally or online

• Source mardi gras decorations locally or online

• Confer with the bartender (see below) on ingredients and supplies needed for the drinks they recommend (see below for a list of drinks). Ask about:

  • Oranges

  • Lemons

  • Whipped cream

  • Milk

  • Lemon juice 

  • Lime juice

  • Orange juice

  • Syrup

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Nutmeg

  • Cinnamon sticks 

  • Raisins

  • Sugar cubes 

  • Ice cubes  

  • Cocktail Shaker

  • Blender

  • Cocktail toothpicks  

  • Small cutting board

  • Small paring knife

  • Bar towels

  • Microplane (for fresh Nutmeg)

  • Bartender spoon, swizzle stick or long stirring item

▢ Source Vendor:

• Source a bartender locally or online, for example  at Thumbtack, who is experienced in mixing all or some of the following drinks. Agree on 2-3 of the below drinks: 

  • The Sazerac

  • French 75

  • Ramos Gin Fizz

  • Hurricane

  • Brandy Crusta

  • The Milk Punch  

  • The King Cake Old Fashioned

  • The Vieux Carré 

 ▢ Source Drinks:     

• Confer with the bartender and order recommended liquor and ingredients through a delivery service like Uber Eats or source them through the local beverage store. Estimate 2 alcoholic drinks per attendee and ensure you have non-alcoholic options available as well. 

▢ Set Up the Event:

• Choose a space that is appropriate for the event with plenty of space for mingling while standing or seated.

• Set up a space for the bartender. 

• Hand out mardi gras masks when greeting the residents.

• Optional: Set up a bluetooth speaker with some music, for example brass music, rhythm and blues, or zydeco.  

• Ensure you have multiple trash and recycling receptacles available throughout the common space.
