The AI Assistant Interview allows HRGP to automatically interview applicants using an AI-powered conversation.
During this step, the system asks candidates a series of questions and records their responses. This helps employers quickly gather insights about applicants before scheduling a live interview.
AI interviews help screen candidates efficiently and ensure every applicant answers the same set of questions.
When the AI Assistant Interview step is used in a hiring workflow:
The applicant is invited to complete the AI interview.
The AI assistant asks a series of questions.
The applicant responds to each question.
HRGP records the responses and generates a report.
This allows hiring managers to review candidate answers before deciding whether to move forward in the hiring process.
HRGP automatically includes required disclosure language in all AI interview invitation emails.
This ensures that applicants are clearly informed that:
AI technology is used as part of the interview process
Responses may be recorded and analyzed
Participation indicates acknowledgment and consent
This language is standardized and cannot be modified, helping ensure consistency and supporting compliance with applicable state and local regulations (including requirements in jurisdictions such as Illinois and New York City).
If an applicant prefers an alternative evaluation method or requires an accommodation, they are provided with a way to request one directly in the invitation email.
Because laws may vary by location, employers should review their internal hiring policies and consult legal counsel if they have specific compliance questions.
AI interviews can be added as a step in a Guided Hiring Workflow.
To add this step:
Go to ATS → Guided Hiring.
Create or edit a workflow.
Click Add Step.
Select Interview > AI Interview as the step Type.
Save the workflow.
Applicants will complete the AI interview as part of the hiring process when they reach that step.
You can also add an AI interview directly to a specific applicant.
To do this:
Go to ATS → Applicants.
Locate the applicant.
Click the + (plus) icon next to the applicant’s workflow steps.
Once inside the workflow, click Add New Step.
Select Interviews > AI Interview and click Add Step.
This allows you to add the interview step for an individual candidate without modifying the entire hiring workflow.
HRGP allows you to configure how the AI Assistant conducts interviews.
These settings allow you to tailor the interview experience to your company and the role you are hiring for.
The Greeting is the opening message the AI assistant uses to introduce the interview.
HRGP automatically generates a greeting that reflects your company and the position being discussed.
Users can edit or customize this message to better match their preferred tone, wording, or interview style.
You can provide documentation and information about the role to help the AI assistant conduct more effective interviews.
This information may include:
Job responsibilities
Required skills
Company expectations
Details about the role or organization
Providing job knowledge helps the AI assistant:

Better understand the position
Answer applicant questions more effectively
HRGP allows you to choose the AI model provider and model used for the interview.
These settings control how the AI assistant generates responses during the interview.
Temperature
The temperature setting controls how precise or creative the AI responses are.

Advanced settings include options such as:
Voice settings
Transcription options
Emotion detection
Other advanced AI behavior controls
These tools allow you to tailor the interview experience to your hiring process.
