You can start hiring without Twilio, but candidate texting will occur outside HRGP. Texting is optional but strongly recommended for faster candidate response times.
Most customers connect Twilio early to manage email, text, chat, and interview communication in one place.
Texting significantly increases candidate response rates and helps teams move candidates through the hiring process more quickly.
When you connect Twilio, HRGP provides a dedicated company phone number for SMS and unlocks powerful messaging features, including:
Centralized communication – Send and receive SMS, chat, and video messages directly within HRGP.
Built-in compliance – Automated opt-in handling and messaging safeguards help meet carrier requirements.
Advanced texting tools – Use text templates, bulk messaging, and scheduled messages to save time and stay consistent.

To comply with carrier and Twilio messaging requirements, HRGP automatically injects standardized SMS consent language into job postings and/or application forms only when texting is enabled and approved.
This language is standardized and cannot be modified to ensure compliance.
When texting is enabled, the following language is automatically inserted:
"By applying for this position, you agree to receive communications related to your application, including email and text messages. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP."
This language is intentionally standardized because it:
Meets carrier and Twilio compliance requirements
Uses plain English (no legal jargon)
Is clearly contextual to the hiring process
Includes an explicit opt-out instruction
Aligns with industry-standard consent practices
✅ Automatically included only when texting is enabled
✅ Applied only after Twilio approval
❌ Not shown when texting is disabled
❌ Cannot be modified or removed
This consent language applies only to application-related communications
Candidates can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP
HRGP enforces this language platform-wide to protect both employers and candidates from compliance issues
